Perspex® is a premium brand of clear cast acrylic renowned for its strength, clarity and long-term durability. A Perspex sheet offers the same crystal-clear look as glass but is significantly lighter, safer and easier to work with. Although often used interchangeably with “acrylic sheet”, Perspex® refers specifically to the branded, high-quality version of this material.

Perspex sheets are cut to size for any project, making them ideal for glazing, windows, screens, displays, hobby projects and protective panels.

Perspex® is one of the most popular glass alternatives because it offers a combination of clarity, strength and practicality that standard glass can’t match.

• Stronger than glass – far more impact-resistant and shatter-safe.
• Lighter than glass – approximately half the weight, making installation easier.
• High optical clarity – excellent light transmission for crystal-clear results.
• UV and weather resistant – ideal for outdoor use, from greenhouses to shed windows.
• Easy to maintain – smooth surface cleans quickly with warm water and a soft cloth.

Perspex® sheets are engineered for reliability in both indoor and outdoor environments. Their standout attributes include:

• Crystal clear
• Excellent clarity and gloss finish
• Robust UV stability for long-term outdoor exposure
• Hard-wearing surface that resists everyday wear
• Good sound insulation compared to standard glass
• Lightweight and easy to handle
• Suitable for bending, shaping and fabricating with the right tools

These qualities make Perspex a dependable choice for both professional and DIY applications.

Choosing the right thickness depends on the size of your panel and its intended use:

• 3 mm – small panels, picture frames, hobby projects
• 4 mm – most shed/greenhouse windows, small glazing panels
• 5 mm – larger windows, secondary glazing, display panels, protective covers

For more specific recommendations, you can use our thickness calculator to find the ideal panel for your project.
