Dibond® is a well-known brand in the world of Alupanel sheets. This material is also called aluminium composite sheet. Each sheet consists of 3 layers. The outer layers are made of 0.3 mm thick aluminium and the core is made of polyethylene, a black plastic. Thanks to its construction, Dibond® is rigid, lightweight and very durable. In addition, alu Dibond® sheets are UV and weather-resistant and highly recommended for outdoor applications.

Applications of Dibond®

Dibond® alu can be used for many different applications. For example, you can use it to create signboards and exhibition stands. Dibond is also widely used in the industrial sector. This varies from wall coverings in trains or buses to coverings for trailers and commercial vehicles.

Options for working with Dibond®

Dibond® sheets are easy to work with, even for the DIYer. You can saw, mill, paint, glue and drill it as long as you use the correct tools. Use good quality metal saws and HSS drills, for example. For more information about making bolt and pop rivet connections, read our blog: Connecting Dibond.

Handy hint: Because Dibond® is a lightweight plastic, you don’t need to use a lot of glue when fixing it. This allows you to disassemble the panel easily.

Tip: Are you going to glue aluminium composite panels? We recommend using Bostik glue for a smooth result.

In our range we offer white Dibond® sheets in the thickness 3 and 4 millimetres. All Dibond® sheets can be cut to your required size and the order will be ready for shipment within 48 hours. Characteristics of Dibond® sheets

Aluminium Dibond® is a lightweight plastic and the sheet consist of three layers. The outer layers are made of 0.3 mm thick aluminium and the strong core is made of a black plastic called polythene. Because of the layers, aluminium composite is a tough, lightweight plastic that is also durable. A Dibond® sheet is UV resistant and weather proof, making it an ideal choice for exterior application.

The aluminium composite panels are available in white, colour and special finishes. Examples of special finishes are brushed aluminium and silver. The material is easy to work with, and are suited for drilling, sawing, gluing and milling. Cleaning the aluminium composite panels is effortless, all that is required is a mild cleaning product and a soft cloth. Due to its excellent qualities, Dibond® can be applied both indoors and outdoors. For example, it can be used as exterior wall cladding, advertising, billboards, stand construction, displays and interior design like stylish wall panelling and kitchen splashbacks.

The Dibond® sheets are covered by a protective film to prevent damaging during transport and handling. In the plastics industry, aluminium composite plastic is known under several names, such as Reynobond, Gutbond, Skybond and i-bond.
