Black acrylic sheets

Black acrylic combines a sleek, opaque appearance with outstanding durability. Whether you’re building a kitchen splashback, decorative wall panel, or custom furniture piece, black acrylic offers a high-end look that’s easy to maintain and long-lasting.

It’s a popular alternative to glass for its safety and versatility — providing a stylish finish while being lightweight, impact-resistant and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

In our webshop, you will find two types of black acrylic: cast acrylic and budget (extruded) acrylic. It is possible to process your black acrylic sheet yourself. If for example, you want to saw, cut, drill, etc., it is best to work with black cast acrylic sheets. We also offer budget extruded acrylic, but due to the high stress created in the manufacturing process of these black sheets, they are less suitable for machining.

Black acrylic is easy to work with using the right tools and techniques. Depending on the type you select, you can:

• Cut and saw to size
• Drill and engrave lettering or logos
• Polish or flame finish edges
• Glue or bond using Acrifix 192
• Heat bend or form shapes
• Laser cut with precision

Extruded black acrylic sheets are thus less suitable for machining than cast acrylic sheets. It is possible, but be extremely careful not to let the sheet crack or break. If you want a sheet that you can enjoy working with, choose the guaranteed stress-free cast acrylic sheets.

The most important property of black acrylic is the material’s great strength. Acrylic is 30 times stronger than glass!

• 30 times as strong and twice as light as traditional glass
• UV-resistant
• Moisture-resistant
• Opaque
• Chemical-resistant
• Heat-resistant

Our black acrylic sheets are used across a range of industries and home projects:

• Kitchen splashbacks
• Decorative wall panels
• Plastic tables
• Plastic balcony glazing
• Signage and lettering

To keep your black acrylic looking its best:

• Use a soft microfibre cloth with a mild household cleaner.
• Avoid abrasive cleaning products or scouring pads — they can scratch the surface.

For professional results, use Vuplex plastic cleaner.
