But you can also use acrylic blocks for industrial applications, make acrylic stamps or make an eye-catching award with acrylic blocks. In short, the possibilities are almost endless. Acrylic as an alternative to glass

There are various reasons for choosing acrylic instead of glass. Safety, workability and weight are the main reasons. Acrylic can also hardly be distinguished with the naked eye from glass, and is just as transparent as glass.

✓ Safe to use

Acrylic blocks are much safer than glass. Unlike glass, acrylic does not shatter into sharp pieces when it breaks. This makes it a safer choice, especially in environments where accidents or collisions are more likely.

✓ Easy to work with

Acrylic is a lot easier to process yourself than glass. So when you don’t order a ready-made product, but want to make a cool creation yourself, acrylic is often a better choice than glass.

✓ Lightweight

Acrylic blocks are significantly lighter than glass, making them easier to handle and install. This is particularly beneficial for large-scale applications or projects where weight is an important consideration.

✓ Transparent or coloured

Acrylic blocks offer an exceptional clarity of around 92%, which is comparable to glass. This means they let a lot of light through, making them ideal for applications where brightness and visibility are important. But of course, you can also choose acrylic in a colour such as (opal) white or black.

Properties of acrylic blocks

Acrylic blocks have a number of important properties. For instance, as you could read earlier, acrylic blocks have exceptional clarity, with a high light transmission of 92%. But acrylic blocks are also known for their durability and impact resistance. Compared to glass, acrylic blocks will therefore break much faster, and will certainly never shatter like glass. This also makes acrylic blocks a lot safer to use than glass blocks. Below are all the properties of acrylic blocks for you.

  • High transparency
  • Durable
  • Weather-resistant
  • Versatile
  • Lightweight
  • Maintenance-friendly
  • Recyclable

Acrylic block fully customised

You order an acrylic block by ordering the acrylic in your desired dimensions. Of course, it is important to choose the right thickness. All available thicknesses are listed below.

Types of acrylic blocks

There are two types of acrylic blocks available, transparent and coloured varieties. Transparent acrylic blocks are crystal clear, and are therefore well suited to use in displays, showcases or lighting where aesthetics and transparency are important. Coloured acrylic blocks, in turn, add that little bit extra to a design. They are therefore very suitable for projects where colour accents, colourful decoration or themes are important. In our product range, you will find acrylic blocks 10 mm or thicker in the colours opal white, black and white.
