Before you start gluing Trespa
We want you to be well-prepared before you get going. Ensure the Trespa® sheets and surfaces to be glued are cleaned thoroughly. You do this with the recommended primers for the best adhesion and to extend the lifespan of your construction. Are all materials within reach? Great. Then you can get going quickly and efficiently.
With the correct preparation and material from PlasticSheetsShop, you lay the best foundation for robust gluing of Trespa®. Your project will not only remain solid, but also look great.
Prior knowledge is essential to get started with Trespa®. Weather conditions matter too; for best results, work at a temperature between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius without rain or fog. Use spacer bars before gluing, ensuring the Trespa® sheets fit perfectly in place.
Tip for placement
Maintain a maximum distance of 45 cm between fixing points. For larger sheets above 2.5 square metres, it’s advisable to use white screws for extra strength. You can cleverly hide these screws behind the edge of the eaves.
How to glue Trespa® yourself
1Prepare Trespa® sheets
Shake the primer well before use. Clean the Trespa® surface with Bostik Easy Clean Wipes or Bostik Primer Paneltack, allowing it to dry for an hour.
2Prime the substrate
Apply the appropriate primer to the substrate. For untreated wood, use Bostik Primer SX Black, and for metal, use Bostik Primer Paneltack. Allow this primer to dry for an hour to ensure optimal adhesion.

3Apply foam tape
Place foam tape vertically on the primed wood or metal. Press it firmly and leave the protective paper on. Cut the foam tape with a sharp knife such as a break-off blade.

4Apply adhesive
Use the Bostik Paneltack adhesive kit and apply a V-shaped adhesive strip on the substrate. Ensure the adhesive strip remains within the foam tape for a neat, continuous line. Position the Trespa® sheet on the fresh adhesive within ten minutes.

5Placing the Trespa® sheet
Ensure the sheet does not immediately stick to the foam tape, allowing you to adjust it to the perfect spot. When everything aligns, press the sheet firmly into place. For extra precision, you can use temporary spacers to hold the sheet at the right height.
