Bostik primer SX Black is a primer that is required when fastening Trespa® or HPL sheets to a wooden surface, for example a wooden framework. The SX Black primer is applied on the wooden surface to ensure an optimal adhesive bond between the wood and the HPL sheets. This primer comes in a 1 litre container, which is enough for pre-treating medium to large wooden frameworks. Bostik primer SX Black can be applied using a foam paint roller.
Before applying Bostik primer SX Black, it is important that you clean and dry the wooden surface and remove any dust and excessive grease. Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear protective gloves when working with this primer. The ideal ambient temperature lies between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius. Shake the container thoroughly before pouring the primer into a paint tray. Take a foam paint roller and soak it in the primer. Make sure to evenly spread out the primer on the surface, one layer of primer is enough for a strong adhesive bond. The drying time is at least 60 minutes and the HPL sheets need to be applied within 24 hours. After this period, it is recommended to apply a new layer of the primer. After opening the Bostik SX Black primer has a limited shelf life.
