Makrolon® ECO is a truly unique material. The term ‘ECO’ indicates that Makrolon® ECO consists of at least 40 per cent recycled Makrolon® sheets. The new Makrolon® ECO sheets possess all the qualities you are already accustomed to from normal Makrolon®, such as transparency and extreme impact and weather resistance.
Makrolon® ECO sheets can be easily custom-ordered in any desired shape and size. On the right-hand side of the Makrolon® ECO product page you will find the order menu. Here you have the option to directly order Makrolon® ECO sheets in your preferred shape and size. This way, you won’t have to cut the panels yourself and can therefore assemble them immediately!
Makrolon® ECO has the same properties as normal Makrolon® sheets, the only difference is that Makrolon® ECO consists of at least 40% recycled Makrolon® material. This means that, not only is Makrolon® ECO as translucent as normal Makrolon®, it is also just as strong and attractive to look at! Below we have listed the main properties of Makrolon® ECO for you:
Makrolon® ECO is available in thicknesses of 3, 4 and 5 mm in a transparent version. Transparent Makrolon® ECO sheets are particularly translucent, just like normal Makrolon® or polycarbonate. If however, you are looking for a smoked or opal-coloured panel, we recommend you take a look at our standard polycarbonate sheets.
The processing procedure for Makrolon® ECO panels is the same as that of standard polycarbonate. For this reason, we recommend using the same tools as you would for metal working. Make sure the tool is sharp and do not use cutting oil. If you are going to mill or drill a Makrolon® ECO panel, then we recommend using a carbide drill bit. If you are going to hot-bend Makrolon® ECO, remember to dry the sheet thoroughly before doing so, otherwise small moisture bubbles may form.
Makrolon® ECO is particularly suitable for applications such as boat windows, door canopy and basketball backboards. The areas of application for Makrolon® ECO are the same as for normal Makrolon® or other polycarbonates. Makrolon® ECO is suitable for outdoor applications. This is because both Makrolon® ECO and standard Makrolon® are specially developed to withstand all weather conditions.
On the product page of your desired sheet you can easily order Makrolon® ECO made to measure. Simply enter the dimensions and order! You can also order Makrolon® ECO to a standard or custom shape. To obtain a customised shape, all you have to do is upload a DXF file containing your design drawing.
Don’t know how to create a DXF file? No problem! We have made helpful video tutorials especially for you. These videos guide you through the entire process. This way, you will not have to machine the sheet yourself. You will receive your new Makrolon® ECO sheet directly at home, and perfectly cut to size.
