Step-by-step guide

1Inspect the type of tractor window

Before you get going, take a good look at the type and mounting of your current tractor window. Some windows have curves; if so, read our advice on bending acrylic or polycarbonate first. Pay attention to how the window is attached—is it screwed in, in a frame, or held by window rubbers? This is crucial for the steps that follow. Make sure you have all the necessary tools, such as a screwdriver and work gloves. Check if the window rubbers are damaged. If replacement is necessary, do it immediately for a proper fit.

2Removing the old window

It is important to be cautious when taking the old window out. Start by unscrewing or unclipping the frame fasteners. Always wear work gloves to prevent injury. After removal, inspect the window rubber for tears or other damage. Do the rubbers need replacing? Don’t put it off! A good fit ensures the new window remains snug.

3Measure and order the material

Accurately measure the dimensions of the old window or opening. In clamp frames, you usually need a 3mm allowance. With precise measurements noted, you can order a plastic sheet. Choose acrylic or polycarbonate—for maximum strength, polycarbonate is the best choice. Looking for comfort? Tinted materials reduce bothersome sunlight. If you need screw holes use our sheet calculator. A fully customised sheet ensures a perfect fit.

4Fit and mount the new plastic sheet

Upon receipt, check if the new plastic sheet fits properly. Position the sheet loosely in the frame or against the screw holes and carefully check the fit. When mounting, use nylon washers—these prevent the sheet from cracking when tightening the screws. Remove the protective film just before final installation. Secure the sheet with white screws or clips in the window frame. Finally, clean everything with an anti-static cleaner and a lint-free cloth. This ensures clear sight and a fresh look for your tractor.
