Arne, a passionate LEGO collector and participant in LEGO Masters, has created an impressive ‘minifigure wall’ using opal white acrylic sheets. His creation brings his love for LEGO to life and provides a unique way to showcase nearly 600 minifigures. With this project, Arne managed to solve the issue of organising and displaying his extensive minifigure collection.
The Project
Arne explains: “Inspired by my experience in LEGO Masters, I’ve made my own ‘minifigure wall’. It’s a wooden frame fitted with LED strips, completed with an opal white acrylic sheet. On the acrylic sheet, I’ve attached 1×8 LEGO plates using transparent glue. This way, almost 600 minifigures can be neatly displayed.”
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process
steps
-
Secure
Secure a wooden framework to the wall. Ensure it’s sturdy enough to support the sheets.
-
Mount LED strips
Mount LED strips on the framework. Position them so that they shine both upwards and downwards for the best lighting effect.
-
Place the sheet
Place the opal white acrylic sheet onto the frame. Finish the edges with a decorative molding.
-
Attach plates
Attach 1×8 LEGO plates to the acrylic sheet. Use transparent glue so the minifigures hold firmly in place.
