Step-by-step guide: make your own XXL LEGO base plate from acrylic
1) Measure and order acrylic sheet
First, figure out how big your base plate needs to be. Measure the total length and width of your LEGO base plates. Want a border around the edges? 2) Prepare materials and workspace
When your sheet arrives, carefully remove the protective film from one side of the acrylic sheet. Leave the film on the other side for now to prevent scratches during the process.
Clean the surface where you’ll be applying glue with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt.Lay out the LEGO base plates loosely on the acrylic sheet. Make sure the base plates fit snugly together to create a flawless base.
3) Glue LEGO plates to acrylic
Apply thin strips of adhesive to the back of one LEGO base plate. Add some glue in the centre for extra hold, but don’t use too much, as excess glue could create bumps that are difficult to handle.Note: Only use an adhesive suitable for plastic. Bostik H780 is an excellent choice due to its strong and durable bond.
Position the LEGO base plate on the acrylic and press it down firmly.

Once the adhesive has cured fully after 24 hours, remove the LEGO or Duplo bricks you used for alignment.
