10mm acrylic sheets
What is 10mm acrylic best used for?
A 10mm acrylic sheet is designed for applications where strength and stability are important. Compared to thinner sheets, it offers increased rigidity and improved impact resistance.
Common uses include:
- Windows and glazing panels (shed windows, secondary glazing)
- Aquariums and water features
- Protective screens and barriers
- Table tops and furniture panels
- Outdoor installations and covers
If your project needs a stronger, more rigid sheet, 10mm acrylic is a reliable choice.
Types of 10 mm acrylic
We offer 10mm acrylic sheets in two types:
Cast Acrylic (Recommended for most projects)
- Easier to cut, drill and machine
- Less likely to crack during processing
- Better for DIY and fabrication work
Extruded Acrylic (Budget option)
- Lower cost
- Best for simple applications with minimal processing
- More prone to cracking when drilled or cut
If you plan to work with the sheet, we recommend choosing cast acrylic.
Processing options
Do you want to process the acrylic sheet yourself? Then we recommend cast acrylic. As we explained earlier, extruded sheets are under higher stress, so they break or crack more quickly when machining, for example during: drilling or sawing.

Key benefits of 10mm acrylic sheets
- Extremely strong: Up to 30x stronger than glass
- Lightweight: Around half the weight of glass
- High clarity: Up to 92% light transmission
- Weather-resistant: Suitable for outdoor use
- Durable and long-lasting
Maintenance of 10 mm acrylic
Acrylic is easy to maintain with a mild household cleaner and a soft microfibre cloth. Beware of brushes, sponges and abrasive cleaners such as Cif. These make small scratches in the screen, making it dull quickly.
