Guus has created an incredible LEGO table for his children using an IKEA TROFAST storage unit and an HPL table top. With this creation, his kids can enjoy building and playing with LEGO to the fullest.

The project

Guus combined two IKEA TROFAST units, fitted them with castors, and topped them with an HPL table top. The outcome is a robust and mobile LEGO table that his children adore. Guus shares, "Building this LEGO table was a straightforward task. I started by assembling the two IKEA pieces. Even a novice DIY enthusiast would find this part easy."

 

Step-by-step guide to make your own

Assembling

Put together the IKEA TROFAST units by following the instructions. This should take around an hour and a half.

Attaching

Attach the units to each other with connecting plates across the side panels. It can be a bit tricky, so having some assistance from children or a friend is useful.

Cutting

Cut a board to fit the bottom of the units and secure it in place. Add the swivel castors with brakes for easy movement.
4

Gluing

Glue the HPL table top firmly onto the units. Allow time for everything to dry completely before use.
