Mark has created his own unique Christmas light boards using black HDPE, PE300, and light chain, perfect for the festive season. He chose HDPE because this material is ideal for outdoor use and non-reflective, allowing the bright LED lights to really shine. With help from our selection tool at PlasticSheetsShop, Mark found the perfect material and could order the exact pre-cut sheets he needed straight away. When they arrived, securely packed in double cardboard, Mark was ready to get going and create something special. The result? Atmospheric, homemade light boards that would brighten any home with Christmas cheer.
The project
Mark crafted various light boards in a Christmas theme from black HDPE, PE300, and light strings. “I drilled holes in the panels to snugly fit the LED lights and made wooden frames to neatly finish the edges,” Mark shares. He even created a board featuring a singing Santa!

Mark’s tips for others
“Use the selection tool on the website and if in doubt, call the customer service. Use a step drill for the 12 mm holes to get nice straight holes. Make sure your drill has a good battery, otherwise you’ll need to recharge before you realise!”
