Cabinet with colourful epoxy drawer fronts and HDPE mould

Manouk, a trainee furniture designer and maker, is crafting a beautiful cabinet with epoxy drawer fronts. She has ordered an HDPE mould from us at PlasticSheetsShop, especially for her final project. This mould helps her pour epoxy without making a mess.

The project

Manouk has created a cabinet with vibrant epoxy drawer fronts. She used HDPE sheets as a mould to perfectly shape the epoxy. Manouk says, “Once you measure everything carefully and know exactly what you need to use, making a mould is straightforward.”

Step-by-step guide

steps

  1. Cut wood

Cut the wood to size for the drawer fronts and attach it with a nail joint to the HDPE sheets.

  2. Screw pieces

Screw the wooden pieces together and place them on the HDPE sheet.

  3. Keep in place

Use a set square and corner clamps to keep the corners at 90 degrees.

  4. Seal

Finish the inside of the mould with silicone sealant to prevent the epoxy from leaking.
