Cees Vervat from Breukelen has crafted a practical and stylish shelter using galvanised pipes and acrylic. This ensures the walkway between his house and the outhouse remains dry, even on rainy days. With this simple yet effective solution, water issues are a thing of the past.
The Project
Cees has constructed a covered walkway using galvanised pipes and acrylic. He bolted the pipes securely between his house and outbuilding, painted them dark grey, and fixed the acrylic into place using stainless steel bolts. “Came out really well,” says Cees with satisfaction.

Shop
Get galvanised pipes from a store like Gamma and paint them your desired colour.

Screw
Screw the pipes securely between the two buildings. Make sure they’re firmly in place.

Drill
Place the acrylic sheet on top and drill holes for the stainless steel bolts.

Fasten
Fasten the acrylic sheet with stainless steel nuts and position rubber washers on the top, and nylon washers between the sheet and pipe.
