Dwight crafted an impressive tail light for his vintage 1960s moped, complete with a fascinating infinity effect. Using multiple layers of acrylic and an LED strip, he creates the illusion of peering into a long, illuminated tunnel. The use of durable acrylic enhances the marvellous light effect and gives the moped a unique appearance.
The Project
Dwight has designed an infinity tail light for his vintage 1960s moped. “When this tail light is on, it’s as if you’re looking into a long tunnel of light. The light is composed of three layers of 8mm acrylic, a piece of red reflective acrylic, and an LED strip,” Dwight explains.
Step-By-Step Guide to create this yourself:

-
Fix
Fix everything securely onto the moped.
Dwight's Tips for Others
“My advice would be to have a lot of patience. I roughly sized the material with the milling bit on the dremel. Afterwards, I smoothed it out using various grits of sandpaper for the best result.”
