Kevin has crafted a unique lightbox featuring the Porsche logo using opal red acrylic. Not only was this project fun to create, it also delivered a stunning result that Kevin can use as an eye-catching decor piece!
The project
Kevin began by printing the 3D letters, each with a height of 60 mm. This helped him determine the precise dimensions for the wooden frame and acrylic sheet. The frame is crafted from weathered wood, cut to size and mitered. To smooth out the sharp edges, Kevin used a router. He then created a groove where the acrylic sheet can rest. To enhance the wood’s appearance, Kevin charred it and treated it with boiled linseed oil. The structure is firmly glued, nailed, and screwed together. For the LED lighting, wires were soldered and installed by Kevin. Finally, the letters were positioned and secured with sealant.
