Description Black polythene sheet 10 mm

This sheet of hard polyethylene is 12 mm thick and black coloured, down to the core. This material is very suitable for applications with large surfaces, such as covers and tanks. The maximum area that you can order in our webshop is 200 x 100 cm. Do you need a special sized panel? Let us cut the polyethylene PE sheet to your size for free. You will receive it at your address within 48 hours.

This panel is lightweight and extremely strong. These properties are what makes this type of sheet so popular for mechanical engineering. It is easy to process, resistant to point loads and does not tear. Keep in mind that the panel can be scratched and the thickness can deviate by 10% on average. If you have any questions about this, please contact us.

Processing options

Polyethylene has high tensile strength and is resistant to elongation. The low melting point makes it good to mould, pour and recycle. Polyethylene can also easily be cut, bent, drilled and welded. However, we do not recommend glueing unless you specialise in this.

  • Milling
  • Drilling
  • Sawing (circular saw)
  • Sawing (jigsaw)
  • Turning
  • Welding
  • Bending (cold)
  • Bending (warm)
  • Cutting
  • Engraving
  • Glueing
  • Lasering
  • Lettering
  • Painting
  • Polishing
  • Water cutting

Polyethylene is the most widely used plastic in the world. 80 million tons of this material is produced worldwide every year. You mainly find it in packaging materials, such as plastic bags, bottles and foil. In addition, you will often find these panels in equipment and machine construction and is used as a set material.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, that's right. Hard polyethylene is also referred to as HDPE or polyethylene.
  • These panels are supplied without protective film, which means they can be slightly scratched. If you have any questions about this, please contact us.
  • Polyethylene comes in two variants: Low Density and High Density. LD has a different molecular structure than HD and is therefore lighter.

Are you wondering whether the Black polythene sheet 12 mm is suitable for your project? Then order a sample. Then you can take your time to consider it, without having to order a whole sheet.
